Horse Stud

We are a small family-run stud farm located in the north of Portugal with over 20 years' experience in breeding sport horses. We are pioneers in the breeding of coloured warmblood horses in the country! We always try to use the best show jumping bloodlines in order to optimise the performance of each horse bred at our stud farm. The focus is on quality, not quantity. We have an average of 4 to 6 foals per season. What sets us apart from the vast majority of coloured sport horse breeders is the selection of maternal lines of extraordinary quality! Performance is the first focus and colour is the icing on the cake. We started a new TOBIANO Warmblood project in 2012 & a new LEOPARD Warmblood project in 2017 - the aim is to breed horses for international competitions, suitable for both amateurs and professionals. Our horses stand out not only for the rare beauty of the coats we breed, but also for their excellent conformation, pedigree, aptitude and above all character, which allows them to be ridden by a diverse range of riders in terms of both age and experience. All Warmbloods born in our house after 2003 have "FLY" as their suffix.

Other information

Xutter Fly - was one of our first products and to this day the most emblematic. This Luso-Warmblood stallion (PSH approved) born in 2003 saw the peak of his career in 2013 when he finished 9th in the final of the national showjumping championship (GP 1.60m) with António Matos Almeida. He travelled to Belgium and then Turkey where he competed for several years, retiring in early 2023 at the age of 20. A career full of achievements and a well-deserved retirement offered by a French breeder who fell in love with him over a decade ago! Xutter Fly now lives in a herd, very happy and full of health.

We hope that someday we'll be able to have a coloured horse jumping at GP level internationally. We have a few on the right track, but they're still very young.
One of our first coloured products, Umbracle Fly Z (Zangersheide stallion, born in 2015 and approved in 2022, owned by the Portuguese rider Luca Rosado), a horse of outstanding quality, will be available for the first time to breeders outside Europe. His frozen semen arrived in Australia in August 2023, which made us extremely proud. There aren't many Portuguese-born stallions being used in Australia at the moment, and even fewer showjumping stallions.

Murtosa, Portugal.
